Assignment 17- Cameron Combs

Over winter break, our family took many trips with long car rides, and watching movies was our main way to pass time while doing so. Being in a family with four kids though does often times cause conflict in finding movies that entertain all of us. The movies picked are usually those that appeal most to my little sister, so many of the movies we watch are from Pixar and Disney. Two movies that we watched were Up and Toy Story which were both created by Pete Docter of Pixar. Although the plot lines of these movies differed greatly, they were still created under the same general idea. This idea is to make children use their imagination and try to make the impossible seem to be a reality, and each of these movies does this very well. Toy Story makes the children think that it may actually be a possibility for toys to come alive and Up makes a house flying on the power of balloons alone not seem to be too unrealistic. While as we get older we come to the realization that these are both impossible, each of these movies make children think otherwise. This is the goal of any kids movie, and while each one has a different story, they are all accomplishing the same goal.
