Daniel Kolpek

Hey! My name is Daniel Kolpek and I am currently a junior at Henry Clay. I like playing golf, skiing, hiking, watching sports (especially basketball), watching movies/Netflix, and just hanging out with my friends. I am a huge Kentucky fan and attend the majority of their basketball games. I love dogs and am definitely a dog person. Cats are okay, just not as awesome as dogs. As I mentioned before, I love to hike and have gone fifty miles on the Appalachian Trail. I also hiked over one hundred miles over ten days in New Mexico last summer.

This summer, I decided to take a break from the hiking and instead go vacationing more. The most memorable part of my summer was probably the wedding I went to in the Bahamas. It was the first time I had ever left the country. It was really cool to see the Caribbean and how blue the water is. My family and I did a ton while we were down there. Me and my dad golfed every other day, and we also went scuba diving where we unexpectedly swam with sharks. After we got back from the Bahamas, we got a new chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy. His name is Comet and he is currently twelve weeks old. I was able to spend the last two weeks before school started training him and getting him familiarized with the house.

My academic goals this year are to get a 4.0 unweighted GPA and pass all of my AP exams. My personal goal is just to have a great time this year.

If I could have any superpower, I would have to say I would want the ability to fly. I picture it being like a roller coaster, with the air blowing in your face and hair flying.
