My name is Mark C. Walsh, and I am an incredibly busy and confused High School Junior. My goal is simply to live through this year without having a nervous breakdown and manage to get B's this year.
I am generally a bad student, and I cannot pass AP exams as a side effect of my irreparable handwriting. My pet peeve is people telling me to try harder with my handwriting. I could write a multiple page essay on why that is an awful request, but I won't make you go through the boredom of having to listen to me rant about the lack of consideration some people have.
Over the last summer, I was ridiculously busy because my family was facilitating my late grandfather's hospice care. I was by his side all summer, until he passed away in the end of July. I took him, in his fragile state, to see his wife everyday for the first month he stayed with us, and one week his condition greatly deteriorated, and we stepped it down to once a week. I am not upset about his passing, I am relieved. He was in so much pain that at the end, they had to put him into a coma-like sedation. He was a wonderful man, but he, like every man, had his faults. He was a drunk, and he was abusive towards his sons and grandchildren, but he was one of the most charitable men I have ever met, and he taught me many important lessons. I would be such a different man without him, and I am proud that I had the pleasure of knowing him.
I am an avid hobbyist photographer, and am now going to be a staff photographer for the school newspaper this year. My camera is by my sides at all times, because I live by the philosophy is that the worst kind of camera is the camera that is at home. I use a Sony A5000 because, for rather technical reasons, it was what was best for me at the time. I would upgrade to a Sony A7RII, but that camera costs more than my car, and a new camera is rather low on my priority list at this time. Here is one of my pictures of my dog (I know that this is a corny subject for a picture, but it is a subject that is readily available, and lends itself well to black&white)
I am a huge fan of vintage German cars, and I hope to become a collector at some point. I currently drive a 1995 Mercedes C280 that I inherited from my Grandfather, and I am working on making it nice. This is one of the things limiting my new camera budget because premium gas, full synthetic oil, and custom parts, or original parts from germany are all expensive things and are excessively necessary for my car. I love looking at this "German Cars For Sale Blog" when I get the opportunity,
