At this moment somewhere in the universe, there is a super-massive black hole sucking up matter and light with such colossal force that it literally bends time. interesting things happen as you near a black hole, things people might only dream of as science fiction. but the black hole itself may not be black. we have no idea what a black hole looks like, since no light escapes, all we see is a blip in space, an empty spot. The point we cannot see beyond is called the "event horizon". Past this point no one knows what happens. but before you get there, there are some interesting points. Because of the way light behaves around the strong forces around the black hole it has some fun party tricks. at a certain distance from the black hole, photons orbit the black hole. so you could theoretically look to your left and see the back of your head! black holes also let you see what is going on behind them, as light passes the black hole, its bends the path of photons and you can see things that should be obscured by the event horizon. so somewhere in the world
