Where Lyle lives, there is one government. There is a supreme overlord; this overlord has no gender. They are a daschund named Sir Raymond and he is a surprisingly fair and just ruler. Loved by all, feared by few, he is the ideal person to be ruling this nation.
There is one large landmass on this planet. Just one. It's called... something. But it has many rivers that flow to every stretch of land across this huge continent. The economy is very stable.
In Lyle's world, people are inherently good, unlike here where people are a big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. There's no need for religion or for too many laws. There's just the right amount. Which means Lyle can enjoy a certain amount of freedom for a four-year-old. He particularly enjoys painting washable murals on the side of his neighbor's garage. They enjoy the art, and when they have guests, they can just wash it off with the garden hose. Sometimes Lyle does this in public. His mother tells him it looks beautiful; sometimes they come back to look at it a week later, and it'll still be there! Another thing he likes to do is go to the book store by himself, play with the puppets, and borrow a book. It's okay that he doesn't pay- he always brings it back.
Lyle thinks his world is awfully loud. You see, there's not a lot of heavy machinery or industrial towns or big factories, that's not the problem. You see, all people with Type A blood can hear people's thoughts. That's Lyle's Type, so he hears a lot of people talking even when they aren't saying anything- he thinks it's kind of annoying, which is reasonable. You'd think it wasn't fair that only Type A people get the cool power, but Type B people can talk to animals, Type AB can levitate (Only a few feet. Safety precaution.), and Type O can bake really good apple pies. This may seem like a crappy skill, but apple pies are the national food, and no one but Type O people can make them actually taste good. Other types usually stick to blueberry and cherry pies instead.
This societal divide is minimal at worst. People are encouraged to have a wide variety of Types in their lives, especially since blood types are genetically passed down. People do love a good apple pie, you know?
There's only one language spoken. It's ancient Latin. Fairly simple with strong ties to tradition and societal foundation. Makes travelling quite easy, especially since Sir Raymond established a worldwide standard currency and there's an astonishing lack of borders.
The world is out there for Lyle to explore.
I wish we lived there.
