Assignment 2-Viviana Ortiz

Colombia just so happens to be a million miles away. Therefore so is all of my family. Skype, texting apps, facebook, twitter, snapchat… all these annoying apps that sometimes suck your life from your fingertips become lifesavers. They become irreplaceable. Whether it’s a birthday or simply an ordinary day, my family isn’t beyond my reach. Sure, being able to hug them would be kinda fabulous, but seeing as flights these days are expensive, technology is my best friend.
Beyond my family in Colombia, technology helps out in keeping my mental sanity. Being in marching band and attempting to do other things like have a social life can be a hassle, so a calendar right on my phone- with band stuff and doctor stuff and stuff stuff- always helps. Want to watch a movie? Siri. Want to eat at a restaurant? Siri. Can't find your way home because you suck at navigation? Iphone. As I write this blog on my computer, I wonder where my life would be without the world at my fingertips. All in all, technology for me is most definitely majorly positive.
