Good and evil just straight up doesn't exist. Everyone has their own motives and situations that cause them to do the things that they do. Every scenario that looks purely evil, or purely good is just a massive grey area in which people express their ideals in unique ways.
Take for example the terrible acts of radical terrorism committed b Al Qaeda on 9/11. Yes, what they did what truly awful and may well be considered pure evil by most people, but understand that their religion is what brought them to do that, and they had deep convictions that they were doing the right thing. Does that make it any better? No, but it does give an alternate perspective.
An example for "pure good" can probably be found in some of our politics like the recent push for marriage equality. Good right? Yes! It is an awesome milestone for America and showed how our nation can stand up against oppression and change for the better. But on the other hand, did all those politicians really believe in it, or were they just supporting it to gain popularity and young voters to be reelected in the next election. I'm still glad the verdict was what it was, but it is a little hard to believe the majority of the lawmakers in our country changed their minds on such a large subject right as it was gaining popularity with a new portion of the voting population of America.
Anyway, it may be that I am naturally cynical and don't trust people often, but I am of the opinion that people are all out there swimming in that grey sea together and there is no pure good or evil, there are just people out there fighting for themselves and their ideals, and that's how it will always be. Unless you are Voldemort. Don't be like that though
