Technology has definitely benefited me. My did lives in Winter Park, Florida about 800 miles away. I can communicate with him because I can talk on the phone, text message, or FaceTime. Without this technology I would be forced to compose boring and painful letters but instead i can reach him whenever and wherever I want.
Technology can be a distraction. i have to hide it in my room when I am doing my homework. It is so convenient to have instant pleasure of having access to information. I often find myself on my computer just searching around and being entertained for what seems like forever. Other things besides distractions happen with technology. Often people do things with technology that they regret but the benefits outweigh the risks.
My life would have been different 20 years ago but It would have other benefits. I like reading the newspaper and do like receiving or writing an occasional letter. I would definitely prefer this era. How would you socialize with random girls without social media? you wouldn't. my relationships are personal interaction based but talking to a people via technology can be different and interesting.
If iIwas a futurist I would predict that there would be a technological revolution in the school system. I believe pencil and pen will not exist but rather a device that records your thoughts down on a tablet. All work will be done on an electronic disk similar to Enders Game.This device will know our thoughts and idea. It will translate everything in our brain to another media. The world we live in with interaction will end.
