A person in the universe at this moment is stuck in the Atlanta airport just like I was a whole 24 hours. I scheduled flight for about 6:00 am out of memphis to Atlanta and then a connecting flight around 8:00 from Atlanta to Lexington. I planned to be home before 12 and relax the rest of the Sunday. However Delta decided to bring the wrath of hell.
The 6:00 am plane's engine broke as we were about to depart from the runaway. We sat on the plane for 90 minutes while the crew fixed the plane and said we were all set. My connecting flight was about to board at that time so they changed my flight to a stand by request at 12:30 from Atlanta to Lexington. No worries.... Yes I was delayed but there was plenty of flights for the rest of that day.
Well then at 12:30 I didn't get a seat because I was a standby request and they oversold. They put me on a 3:30 flight and again my stand by request was worthless. So I was going to have to be in Atlanta until the last flight to Lexington at 9. I was angry. By myself in the Atlanta airport was not how I wanted to spend my last day of Spring Break.
But there is more to come. At 7:00 Delta decided to cancel the flight to Lexington at 9. No idea why. So then I had to fly into Louisville at 10:30. Finally I got on the plane and we arrived however my "caring" mother accidentally went to the Cincinnati airport and not Louisville. My luggage of course was in Lexington so by the time I got home it was already Monday morning. And somewhere in the universe... probably in Atlanta... another person is telling a similar story.
