It's cheesy and generic and I kinda hate myself for it, too, but when I thought about what music is really for it always comes back to emotions. Yeah, I listen to music almost 24/7 but I only REALLY hear it when I need it the most. When I cry I really pitifully sing and eventually it pulls me out. Hence, Songs to Cry To.
1. Diphylleia Grayi- Jonghyun Kim
From the first time I heard this song I knew it was special. I cant explain what it is, whether it's his haunting vocal or the layering of orchestra and backup vocals but if you listen to this song you'll understand why it's the perfect song to cry to. It's about the pain of a relationship and you can feel it.
2. Everything's Good- BTOB
This song captures feelings everyone has when growing up. Wanting to be young again, feeling that life is too hard or you're behind everyone else. He says "everything's good" no matter what, and there's always something else coming. I might only think its a good song to cry to because it was first recommended to me while I was crying, but hey, it fits.
3. Breathe- Lee Hi
This song, as the title suggests, tells us just to breathe when you need to, that it's okay to feel down and it's okay not to be okay (yes, that cheesy message again) but as someone for whom the music speaks more than the words, it's okay. I can feel what she wants to convey and that's all that matters to me. Her voice and the hopeful track makes it easy to cry to, her voice is like a pat on the back and someone saying "it's okay." That's cheesy too...
4. Eat- Zion.T
This is another song that got me, even the first time I heard it. It's written to a girl basically for when she's feeling down, to listen to this song and feel better. It's really sweet and Zion.T's voice is soft along with gentle piano, but to follow up the last song it's a little more upbeat. I'll admit I almost always listen to this song if I'm crying.
I'm way past my 150 words and I only want these 4 songs in my playlist. If you must have a 5th song to cry to,
5. Yanghwa Bridge- Zion.T
The chorus says "Lets, be happy, let's not be sad." Point made. You have to listen to understand.
Happy crying!
