I have never really had a true guru/ old wise man figure in my life, and ,y parents have never been up for dispensing wise words of wisdom. So I rely heavily on pop culture for my advice (probably why I have questionable morals). With that said, the best piece of advice I have ever received is as follows;
"The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules"
Now you might think that this seems like a pretty irresponsible quote, but I beg to differ. When one lives their life restrained by the societal constructs and rules, they end up quite often hating their lives, sitting in cubicles and working day jobs that bring them no joy. If you follow this gem of advice your life will be full of spontaneous fun and joy, filled with rushes of excitement. forcing silly rules like bed times and diets will lead to a life of boredom and self pity.
Then again...
This little tidbit of advice came from the infamous joker, so I'm sure a violent psychopath had a little something else in mind.
