Lauryn McNair #19

The best piece of advice I've gotten is "everything happens for a reason". Cliché? Yes. Effective? Also yes. Being an anxious, overthinking-to-the-point-of-faux-paralysis type of person, I have a tendency to well.. over think. I worry about the smallest things and for some reason can't seem to stop thinking about them. Whether it's not being competitive enough for college or imagining the toll taken on our natural resources based off of our internet usage alone, if it's a problem,  it's a safe bet that I'm probably thinking about it. However, to keep me from falling off of that slippery slope into a pit of  overthinking and despair, my mom reminds me that "everything happens for a reason". This little phrase keeps me from worrying about things I can't change or things that have already happened. While it doesn't take the sting out of everything, it definitely helps.
