Assignment 17 Brian Sato

Quentin Tarantino is one of the best filmmakers. Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight were both kind of in the same time frame. Django takes place a couple years prior to the Civil War while the Hateful Eight follows shortly after it. They both have some of the same cast members such as Samuel L. Jackson and Walton Goggins. Both films were highly anticipated and both delivered. Hateful Eight was more of a detective story where each person in the cabin was questioned and killed. Django on the other hand was more of Django, a slave and his goal to rescue his wife and kill anyone who gets in his way. Both movies had a fantastic cast and both movies grossed millions of dollars as well as having both successful opening weekends. Django is definitely more action packed than Hateful Eight but Hateful Eight is more about thinking about the characters and who is the suspect. I wouldn't be able to rank them against each other because they were both outstanding movies.
