I would like to give a shout out to my man Daniel. He is one cool dude and I would recommend him as a chill friend. Daniel, I apologize for not dedicating this blog to you. Instead, I will write an homage to my other "neighbor", the quiet column. I am fortunate enough to be one of two people seated adjacent to the pleasant pillar. The beautiful buttress. The pretty post. My side of the poll is coated with innovative student drawings, writing, and other "artwork." I won't deny the brash obscenities that are littered onto its walls, but I see it as a natural representation of the sporadic and unique mind of a high schooler. Mr. Logsdon, I'm not sure if you haven't witnessed the "art" or you just don't care, but if you are reading this, I would like to request that the markings be left in their current state and further marks be left untouched. However, due to their offensive nature, I doubt that my pleads will be manifested.
About the column: It remains lethargic, stuck in some impeding substance. Restrained to the High School English class, it casts its pungent aura onto students, like the obelisk in 2001: A Space Odyssey. If I were to characterize the column as a food, it would be a dynamic ice cream flavor, containing every imaginable topping, poised for its contents to be eagerly licked up by bored eyes. In five years I hope that it is still tented with art, the conversational topic of a multitude of flavor-hungry students.
