Assignment 9 Viviana Ortiz
Violence has never been a solution to me. Ever since I was little I've been terrified of it. To me, it just never seemed to bring successful solutions. However, things like boycotts and speeches, while they took a longer time, always seemed to bring results. Here's my philosophy, sometimes words aren't enough, boycotts aren't enough and unfortunately violence must come along. But violence shouldn't become a part of an equation to solve something until the very last moment. Sometimes words are enough, a simple talk can change someone's attitude. The words sink into their hearts and it changes the way they approach things. At other times, words just aren't enough. Beyond that, the next step is involving others, allowing elders to help, someone with more experience. But what if you are the most experienced? What if the situation is so complicated and involves danger for others? This is when violence or war becomes an option but never before.
