Assignment 3 Mark Walsh

Humans like to Group things into completely distinct sections. Black and white. Yes and no. New and old. Good and Evil. But really, grey exists, maybe exists, slightly used exists. Is there an intermediary between good and evil? I say yes, and I would also argue that there is never a clear good and evil. There is always a redeeming factor for all "evil" powers throughout history, from the British during the revolutionary war, to the USSR during to cold war, to the Nazis during the second world war. The British during the revolution, while tyrannical, were merely putting down a rebellion and defending their territories, The Soviets created a new government during a time of crisis, emphasizing giving to the poor and employing everyone. This system was terribly flawed, but they were doing exactly what they believed was right and helped to create Europe and the world as we know it today. The Nazis were a terrible group of people that came to power with the promise of desperately needed economic reform. The notion of pure good or pure evil is simply ludicrous.
